Relief

Relief is the provision of assistance or intervention during or immediately after a disaster to meet the life preservation and basic subsistence needs of those people affected. It can be of an immediate, short-term, or protracted duration.

The following graph shows the relief costs over the past few years as provided by the Ministry of Food Production, Land and Marine Affairs (MFPLMA), the Ministry of the People and Social Development (MPSD), Ministry of Housing and the Environment (MHE), the ODPM and the Association of Trinidad and Tobago Insurance Companies (ATTIC).
