Update to Tropical Storm Nadine

At 5:00 a.m. today, the centre of Tropical Storm Nadine was located about 1285 km east-northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands. Tropical Storm Nadine is presently moving toward the northwest near 26 km/hr and this general motion is forecast to continue today. This system is forecast to turn toward the north-northwest tonight, followed by a turn toward the north on Friday. The forecast track of Tropical Storm Nadine continues to carry it northwards away from from the Caribbean Islands.

Maximum sustained winds are near 110 km/hr with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast over the next couple days and this system could become a hurricane later today. Although Trinidad and Tobago is expected to experience some afternoon showery activity over the next couple days, this is NOT related to the activity of Tropical Storm Nadine.

WE WISH TO UNDERSCORE THAT AT THIS TIME THAT TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO AND GRENADA AND ITS DEPENDENCIES ARE NOT UNDER ANY TROPICAL STORM THREAT, WATCH OR WARNING.
