FINAL APPEAL TO CONTRIBUTE

TO THE BAHAMAS RELIEF EFFORT

The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) continues to convey our thanks and appreciation to the citizenry of Trinidad and Tobago for your continued prayers and outpouring of support, shown for the welfare of the People of  the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, following Hurricane Dorian’s devastating impact.

The ODPM once again wishes to thank the many individuals and corporate entities who continue to make monetary contributions and donate items toward the relief effort. In this regard, the ODPM would like to make a final appeal to members of the national community who still wish to assist the many families affected by Hurricane Dorian, to please take note of the  changes regarding the information on the  fifteen (15) relief centres that were established.

In North Trinidad, persons are advised that the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers Association (TTMA) have closed off their relief operations. However, persons may drop off their donations at the Foundation for the Enhancement & Enrichment of Life (FEEL) warehouse at #2208 Fernandez Industrial Compound, Laventille or the San Juan Laventille Regional Corporation, at the Chairman’s Office, MTS Plaza, Aranguez Main Road.

Also, the deadline date for UNICOMER (Trinidad) Limited is Thursday 26th September 2019. In addition, the Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) has establisbed its deadline date as Friday 27th September 2019 ( please see Appendix 1).

Persons are also kindly reminded to continue utilising the Bahamian Government’s Preliminary Needs List and NEMA’s Post Hurricane Dorian Relief Supplies 2019 List (please see Appendices 2 and 3).

The Bankers Association of Trinidad and Tobago (BATT) has maintained their support to the relief effort. Persons who are interested in making monetary contributions instead, may do so at the following local Banks:

Attached is the updated listing of the fifteen (15) collection centres where persons may take their relief items as well as the Bahamian Government’s Preliminary Needs List and NEMA’s Post Hurricane Dorian Relief Supplies 2019 List. 

Please remember that every little contribution counts, so let us continue to  join together and help the Bahamas become strong once again.
