Earthquake Preparedness Tips

 

 

 

On August 21st 2018 at 5:31 p.m., Trinidad and Tobago was rocked by a 6.9 magnitude earthquake. For many, this was the first earthquake felt with such intensity. It directly impacted many private and public buildings and homes across Trinidad and Tobago. However, beyond the cracks and temporary disruption, this earthquake left a lasting memory. 

While we recognise the passing of one year since such a significant hazard impact in the history of Trinidad and Tobago. The ODPM continues to remind persons to Get Ready and Stay Ready for any hazard. 

Just like the August 2018 earthquake, hazards can occur without warning. Earthquakes may last only seconds, but they can shake up our lives for weeks and months to come.
