National Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Month (NDPPM)
The National Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Month (NDPPM) is observed annually in the month of May in Trinidad and Tobago, to raise awareness about potential hazards and promote readiness for the Atlantic Hurricane Season, which officially begins on June 1st.
NDPPM activities include showcasing disaster risk reduction strategies, sharing information, and encouraging community engagement.

On May 16, 2025, the ODPM, in collaboration with AMCHAM T&T and ARISE Trinidad and Tobago, hosted a vital Business Continuity Workshop at the UWI St. Augustine Campus as part of National Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Month (NDPPM).Business Continuity Workshop – May 16, 2025, at UWI St. Augustine.

As part of National Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Month, the ODPM hosted a pivotal workshop addressing the management of mass fatalities from disasters such as floods, explosions, and collapsed structures. This was held on 29-May-2025 at our Mausica location.


On 22 May 2025, the ODPM conducted a Cyber Security & Disasters Webinar as part of the NDPPM month of activities to explore how cyber threats intersect with disaster risk, and what you can do to stay protected.



A crucial aspect of the NDPPM month of activities is teaching our citizenry the importance of Preparation before a hazard impact occurs. Listed above are a few samples of our outreach activities.
