International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction is observed annually on October 13th. This day serves as a reminder of the critical need for proactive strategies to minimize the impacts of hazards. It’s an opportunity to recognize the efforts of the public sector, private sector, civil society organisations, academia, the media, and communities who work tirelessly to reduce vulnerabilities and enhance resilience.
Let us continue to foster awareness and invest in effective disaster risk reduction and management so we can build safer, more resilient societies capable of withstanding future challenges.

In celebration of this auspicious occasion, the ODPM team is engaging with our citizens at two locations today: the Chaguanas Center City Mall and the Diego Martin Borough Corporation Office.
