During the later part of this morning, 7th October 2025, Tropical Storm Jerry has developed in the Central Tropical Atlantic.

This system is just over 1600km east of the Windward Islands and is moving westwards near 38 km/h. The storm is expected to turn to the west-northwest with a gradual reduction in speed over the next couple of days. The centre of the system should then be in the vicinity of the northern Leewards late Thursday into Friday.

Although environmental conditions are expected to favour further development of the system over the next couple of days,  it is expected to pose no direct threat to Trinidad and Tobago.

THERE IS CURRENTLY A HAZARDOUS SEAS ALERT (YELLOW LEVEL) IN EFFECT FOR TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, BUT NO TROPICAL CYCLONE ALERTS, WATCHES, OR WARNINGS.

The TTMS continues to monitor Tropical Storm Jerry and will issue an update at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, 8th October 2025, or earlier if there is a significant change in its organization or forecast.
