On Wednesday, April 9th, the ODPM was honoured to participate in Cipriani College’s CIPS CARES Career Day. Our dedicated team from the Mitigation Planning & Research, Preparedness & Response, and Public Information & Education Outreach units engaged with students, shedding light on dynamic careers in disaster management.
A highlight of the day was introducing attendees to the Public Alert Notification System (PANS). PANS is Trinidad and Tobago’s official platform that delivers real-time alerts on emergencies such as adverse weather, earthquakes, and floods, ensuring citizens stay informed and prepared. Many took the proactive step to sign up, enhancing their readiness for potential emergencies.
