On Thursday the16th November, 2023, the ODPM provided a number of Emergency Tents, Standby Generators, Rescue Boats with outboard Engines, Fuel Containers and Life Jackets to the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government’s Disaster Management Units (DMUs), the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF), the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service and the TEMA (Tobago Emergency Management Agency).
The provision of these items to the respective response agencies marks a crucial step in our collective mission to serve communities in times of need and symbolises our unwavering dedication to humanitarian values and our readiness to swiftly respond to crises, providing aid and support where it is most needed.
These items were donated to Trinidad and Tobago by the People’s Republic of China and will be pre-positioned across Trinidad and Tobago to support disaster response and recovery efforts.
