From November 7th to 9th, the ODPM partnered with Habitat for Humanity Trinidad & Tobago to support their Building Resilient Communities (BRC) project to collect data for their Participatory Approach for Safe Shelter Awareness (PASSA) Programme, as well as Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping within the coastal community of Guayaguayare.
These assessments are being conducted in coastal communities around Trinidad and Tobago and will be used to determine how coastal hazards impact communities and community resilience. These activities will not only assist in building the capacities of community members and raise awareness but also allow for mapping to facilitate planning and management of coastal communities to aid high-level decision-making.
