TT MET Office Issues Rough Seas Bulletin #3 - Friday 09th February, 2018

ROUGH SEAS OVER THE CARNIVAL WEEKEND
 
Seas continue to be moderate to rough with wave heights reaching up to 3.0m in open waters and occasionally choppy in sheltered areas. Similar conditions will continue today, however, over the Carnival weekend sea conditions are expected to gradually worsen and become more disturbed, as the relatively strong surface winds are forecast to strengthen further.
 
Marine conditions from Saturday 10th February 2018, are forecast to become more agitated with wave heights reaching 3.0m and above along exposed coastlines, especially north and east coasts. In sheltered areas, choppy seas may be experienced. These adverse sea conditions over the weekend are forecast to persist into next week.
 
SMALL CRAFT OPERATORS, SEA BATHERS AND ALL OTHER MARINE INTERESTS ARE ASKED TO EXERCISE CAUTION IN ALL SEA RELATED ACTIVITIES.
 
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is closely monitoring sea conditions and will issue an update at 12:00 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday 10th February 2018, or earlier if the situation warrants.
