THE ITCZ IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE FORELEG OF AN ACTIVE TROPICAL WAVE EXPECTED TO PRODUCE SOME SHOWERY ACTIVITY

Trinidad, and to a lesser extent Tobago, will experience some heavy showers and the occasional thundershower as a result of the reformation of the ITCZ interacting with the foreleg of an active tropical wave along 57°W and upper level conditions which are favourable for convective development. These conditions are expected to be intermittent in intensity along the space continuum but may persist throughout the night into tomorrow.
The heavier showers and the thundershowers that are likely to develop will also produce some gusty winds and there is the possibility of street and flash flooding in the vicinity of theses heavy showers/thundershowers. There is also the likelihood of landslips/landslides along areas of the northern range. Rivers of moderate carrying capacity may become inundated.

Citizens are advised to be vigilant and cautious as they conduct their activities given these forecast weather conditions. The public is also reminded to be alert to any electrical discharges from thundercloud activity.

WE STRONGLY UNDERSCORE THAT TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO IS NOT UNDER ANY TROPICAL STORM THREAT, WATCH OR WARNING AT THIS TIME.
