ADRA requests volunteers for relief exercise Sunday 19th August 2012


The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) is a registered NGO in Trinidad and Tobago. According to Pastor Emmanuel Peter, Director of ADRA, the organisation continues to provide assistance to families affected by last Saturday’s flooding in the West of Port of Spain and environs.

On Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th August 2012, ADRA began making provisions for some affected families, such as drinking water, cooked meals and even psychological counselling.  ADRA also assisted with the clean-up operations within the area.

Based on the assessment made by relevant authorities ADRA proposes to strengthen operations by adding over 200 volunteers to an ADRA clean-up operation onSunday August 19th 2012. ADRA volunteers will be assembling at the Seven Day Adventist Church and primary school for 9:00 am. The church and school are located at Chow Quan Avenue, Diego Martin. The national public is invited to partner with ADRA for this operation. Anyone needing help is asked to contact ADRA at 752-6122, 758-9473 and 392-6735.

Volunteers are asked to walk the following: shovels, wheel barrows, portable stoves, gas, portable tents, drinking water, cooking utensils, disposable plates, forks, spoons, garbage bags, gloves, disinfectant, mop, buckets, coolers and ice.
