Information Bulletin # 3 - Tropical Depression #5 changes little during the last 12 hours

The following is an update of the current Tropical Depression, the ODPM is closely monitoring and will provide necessary updates. Please be guided accordingly.

At 5:00 am the center of Tropical Depression Five
was located near Lat 12.8N Long 52.6W or about
910 km East of the Windward Islands. The
Depression is moving toward the west-northwest at
near 33 km/h and this general direction is
expected over the next 48 hours. On this forecast
track, the centre of the Tropical Cyclone should
be near the Windward Islands, North of Trinidad
and Tobago, on Friday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 55km/h with
higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast
during the next 48 hours and this depression
could become a Tropical Storm later tonight or
tomorrow.

AT THIS TIME, WE WISH TO EMPHASISE THAT TRINIDAD
AND TOBAGO AND GRENADA AND ITS DEPENDENCIES ARE
NOT UNDER ANY TROPICAL STORM THREAT, WATCH OR
WARNING.

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service isclosely monitoring the progress of this weather
system and will issue another update at 6:00 pm
today or earlier.
